Is Crest toothpaste gluten free?

When you first are diagnosed as Celiac, suddenly everything you put in your mouth seems a bit scary! And that includes not only food, but also products that you never worried about before, such as toothpaste. If you’ve been using Crest toothpaste for a long time, but now need to worry about gluten – then you need to know is Crest toothpaste gluten free?

Is Crest gluten free? Yes!

Crest toothpaste IS gluten free! Anyone with a gluten allergy, gluten intolerance or with Celiac disease can safely use Crest products. All types of Crest toothpaste are gluten free, and so are other popular Crest products like Crest Whitestrips and their Crest Glide floss!

It may seem like a funny thing to even have to think about, but for years many types of toothpastes DID in fact contain gluten. (And some brands still do contain gluten. It’s always best to check the label on your toothpaste carefully to make sure it doesn’t have any traces of gluten, particularly if you’re Celiac.) That’s because starches from grains helped to stabilize the thickness of the toothpaste, making it thick and easy to brush with – not thin and icky. (Real technical terms there, folks!) But, Crest has removed ALL gluten from any of their toothpastes, so you need not worry at all.

So, no need to fear grabbing for your favorite Crest toothpaste to smear on your toothbrush. There is no gluten in Crest toothpaste (or in their famous Crest Whitestrips either!)
