Five Guys Gluten Free – Gluten free menu items

Today is all about Five Guys – the burger joint also known for their incredible, freshly cut french fries. But, for those of us who eat gluten free, we really need to know if there is anything we can safely eat at Five Guys. So, does Five Guys have gluten free burgers and fries? Let’s find out!

Five Guys Gluten free food

I think most of us are likely concerned about the fries, right? Okay, and the burgers and hot dogs too, so that’s what we’ll obviously be focusing on. Fries first, because I am ALLLLL about the fries.

Five Guys – are the fries gluten free?

Good news, everyone! I love when we can tell you this: yes, the fries at Five Guys CAN be considered gluten free!! Five Guys have dedicated french fry fryers (try saying THAT five times in a row.) The beauty of that is, that they don’t fry anything else in those fryers, and since their fries are purely potatoes, the fries should be gluten free.

I’d still suggest asking at your Five Guys location to make sure that this is the case. Once you establish that this is true, then you’ll always feel comfortable ordering and enjoying the delicious, steaming hot French Fries.

Are Five Guys’ burgers gluten free? Do they have gluten free buns?

Yes, the burgers are gluten free! As in the hamburger patties themselves, and all of the toppings too.

Unfortunately, however, at this time there are no gluten free buns available at Five Guys. So, you have a couple of options if you really want a burger in a bun, rather than wrapped in lettuce. (The sad reality for many of us who want to order a takeout burger!)

Bring your own bun from home, either homemade (these silicone pans make it easy) or premade. You might even be able to convince the burger artist to use your GF bun and make the burger that way – but the safest way is likely to construct the burger yourself.

And hey: Five Guys! Can you please look into stocking some GF buns for us? I’ll update this post when that – hopefully, hopefully – becomes a reality.

Are Five Guys’ Hot Dogs gluten free?

Yep, again, the hot dogs themselves ARE gluten free! But, no buns. So, bring your own gluten free hot dog buns if you really want the whole hot dog experience, or else just eat it as is, with as many toppings as you like. Because happily, all of the toppings are gluten free.

Are Five Guys’ Milkshakes gluten free?

Yes, they are! But just don’t add the mix-ins into your milkshake, as those are not necessarily gluten free. If you need more information on the specific add-ins, just ask at your Five Guys location. But, the base milkshake flavors ARE gluten free and safe.

Five Guys Gluten Free Food (Menu) List:

  • Burgers: Gluten free patties, no gluten free buns. All toppings ARE gluten free.
  • Hot Dogs: Gluten free wieners, but again no gluten free buns. All toppings ARE gluten free.
  • French fries: Totally gluten free, yay! Oh, and we should mention that the Cajun fries ARE ALSO gluten free. Yessss….
  • Toppings: All burger and hot dog toppings are gluten free at time of writing.
  • Milkshakes: Gluten free base flavors. Ask about the mix-ins or add-ins, but these generally are not gluten free.

Not bad, right? We have quite a lot of gluten free deliciousness to choose from at Five Guys, which is pretty exciting. Okay, gotta go get some of those gorgeous fries…cheerio!
