Does Chick-fil-A have Gluten Free? Do they have any gluten free food options?

Is Chick-fil-A gluten free or does it have any gluten free options? This popular restaurant chain is loved by millions. Who doesn’t enjoy their breakfast biscuits or their chicken nuggets or sandwiches? They are delicious! However, can everyone enjoy their food? Can people who are gluten intolerant go and have a nice meal at one of their restaurants?

Chick-fil-A Gluten Free? Not Quite.

If yo go to their website and look at the nutrition and allergens of their food products, you will notice a few items that do not contain wheat. Some of the wheat-free items are hash browns, Greek yogurt parfait and a fruit cup from their breakfast menu. There is also their grilled chicken nuggets, spicy southwest salad and chick-fil-A waffle potato fries that do not contain wheat. So are these items gluten free? Notice what it says on the same page of the above website regarding allergens:

“Due to the handcrafted nature of our food, variations in our supplier ingredients, and our use of shared cooking and preparation areas, we cannot ensure that our food is free from any allergens. Products containing wheat, egg, soy and milk are all made in our kitchens. There could be other potential allergens not addressed here. Please consult the ingredients on each product prior to consuming.”

Because everything is made in the same kitchen, there is definitely the risk of cross contamination. So, it is definitely a case of diner beware, particularly if you are Celiac!

Chick-fil-A is not a gluten free restaurant, and as you likely know they have a lot of items that contain wheat flour. They do have some items that do not contain wheat. However, there is a risk of cross contamination and if you are very gluten sensitive or Celiac, it is something you need to consider. If the risk is too great then perhaps it might be better to make some gluten free biscuits at home and not have to worry. Eat well and stay safe!
