Are Butterfingers gluten free? Gluten free candy bars and chocolate bars

Butterfinger candy bars have been in production since 1923, and feature a scrumptious interior of delicious, crispy and crunchy layers of peanut butter candy. And then it’s all coated in delicious, rich milk chocolate. But, we need to know – Are Butterfingers gluten free?

Do Butterfingers have gluten?

Certain varieties of Butterfinger candy bar DO have gluten, so anyone with a gluten allergy, intolerance and certainly with Celiac Disease (Coeliac) will need to take care. The only type of Butterfinger bar that doesn’t contain gluten ingredients is the original Butterfinger bar.

Please keep in mind that these Butterfinger bars might not have gluten ingredients in the recipe, but that doesn’t mean there might not be issues of cross contamination. (Meaning the candies may have inadvertantly been in contact with gluten at the manufacturing facility, which makes other types of candy that contains gluten.) That is why Butterfinger cannot be labelled as gluten free.

Are Butterfingers peanut free?

No! Butterfinger candy bars have layers of peanut butter candy in the middle of the bars, so if you have a peanut allergy you cannot eat these.
