Do you like Arby’s Pecan Chicken Salad? Most do and why not as you have the combination of Pecans and chicken mixed with a little bit of lettuce. Sounds tasty to me! However, is it gluten free? At first glance you would think yes as Pecans, chicken, and lettuce are all obviously gluten free. However, more investigation is needed.
Arby’s Pecan Chicken Salad – NOT gluten free (Because it’s in a sandwich)
With more investigation you realize that Arby’s offers only the Arby’s Pecan chicken Salad Sandwich. And they only offered it for a limited period of time and it is now currently not available. It was not gluten free due to having honey wheat bread as one of it’s ingredients. If you want to know what Arby’s menu items do not contain gluten, just go to Arby’s official website and look at it nutrition information. Once there, they have a PDF of their menu items that do not contain gluten.
However, caution is still needed as the PDF states that Arby’s and their employees do not assume responsibility for a particular allergy or sensitivity to any food provided in their restaurants. Also, there is a chance of cross contamination such as products using the same oil.
Conclusion
As seen from the above information, this sandwich is not gluten free. Also, it is only available for a limited period of time and now is not currently on their menu. If you want to know when it will be available, please keep checking Arby’s menu to see if it is back on the menu. However for gluten intolerant people, you definitely need to be cautious when it comes to this and other menu items at Arby’s. There might be some items that do not contain gluten but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are gluten free. Eat well and stay safe my friends.
